Yabba Dabba Doo! The Flintstones are Back!
When returning to the Stone Age is a good thing: Warner Bros. Animation and Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions are collaborating on a new series about your favorite modern Stone Age family, The Flintstones. Not for little eyes and ears this time, the project is in early development and is being described as a primetime animated adult comedy based on the original idea featuring characters from the cartoon classic, which ran from 1960 to 1966. Gender roles updated, I imagine.
IMDB Series with Kelsey Grammar
IMDb is now getting into the content creation business, with its first-ever scripted animated series You’re Not a Monster. The fab voice cast includes Kelsey Grammer, Ellie Kemper, Aparna Nancherla, Patton Oswalt and Eric Stonestreet.
Scheduled for a fall premiere, the series shows that even movie monsters have emotional issues, and Grammer will return to the therapist chair as a former psychiatrist-turned-vampire who mentors his great-great grandson Max (Stonestreet), who’s inherited his practice. Find it here.
Daisy Jones & the Six — Another of My Favorite Books Being Made into a Series
It make sense that Amazon, originally known as an online purveyor of books, would be behind some of the best adaptations. The latest that caught my eye is a 13-episode series based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s fabulous novel Daisy Jones & The Six with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Circle of Confusion producing.
For those of you who have not yet read it (and you should pick it up immediately) Daisy Jones & The Six centers on a fictional rock band in the 1970s, following their rise through the ranks of the LA music scene and beyond, eventually becoming one of the most legendary bands in the world.
“As soon as I started reading Daisy Jones & The Six, I immediately fell head over heels in love with it, and I’m thrilled to be bringing it to the screen,” said Witherspoon. “I am so confident that Daisy and her band’s journey toward finding their voice will leave just as permanent a mark with viewers around the world as it did with me.”

Fabulous Series Alert: A Discovery of Witches
I loved Deborah Harkness’s All Souls Trilogy so much I was actually afraid to watch AMC’s A Discovery of Witches series when it aired, for fear it wouldn’t do the intriguing books justice. But recently, when I saw it was on the Rotten Tomatoes list of Best New TV Series of the Year so far (scroll down), I thought I’d try an episode or two.
I was immediately spellbound, and am recommending it to all creatures great and small. Binge it On Demand.

Check Out This New Take on a Classic British Rom-Com
I love the look of Hulu’s new limited anthology rom-com series Four Weddings and a Funeral from Mindy Kaling. The first four episodes premiere Wednesday, July 31.
In essence, “Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course there are four weddings… and a funeral.”

Cersei’s Back — Once Again a Hot Mess
Love her or hate her, Game of Thrones’ Cersei Lannister was one of the most compelling characters ever created for television. And now Lena Headey, the woman who made her so, is starring in a Showtime pilot for an hourlong dramedy called Rita.
Headey will executive produce the pilot, based on an original Danish series about a single mother who takes on every kind of authority, as well as her family, in a messy and unfiltered way. Cross your fingers for a green light!

If you could have any celeb remodel your home, who would be your first choice? Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame and the Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott duke it out for the top spots on most people’s lists, but how in the heck did the Dwayne Johnson and Oprah make the cut?
