Waaaah! HBO has just announced that tech nerd sitcom Silicon Valley will end with Season 6, which is currently in pre-production and will air later this year.

And it will be a shortened season—only seven more episodes! “Silicon Valley has been a career and life highlight for us. We’ll miss it desperately, but we’ve always let Pied Piper’s journey guide the way, and Season Six seems to be the fitting conclusion,” said series creators and exec producers Mike Judge and Alec Berg. No matter what you’re doing on May 27 (Memorial Day), set your recorder for National Geographic’s compelling three night limited series The Hot Zone. It’s GREAT TV!

Based on the eponymous international best-seller by Richard Preston, The Hot Zone, starring Golden Globe and Emmy award winner Julianna Margulies, is inspired by a true story about the origins of Ebola, a highly infectious virus from the central African rainforest, and its arrival on US soil in 1989. Totally engrossing, in many ways.

In honor of Rebecca (Rachel Dratch)’s 50th birthday, Abby (Amy Poehler) plans a scenic Napa getaway with their best, longtime friends. Workaholic Catherine (Ana Gasteyer), post-op Val (Paula Pell), homebody Jenny (Emily Spivey), and weary mom Naomi (Maya Rudolph) are sold on the chance to relax and reconnect. Yet as the alcohol flows, real world uncertainties intrude, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures. Directed by Poehler, Wine Country co-stars Tina Fey, Jason Schwartzman and Cherry Jones.

Yes, I’m partial to most things British, and not just because I’m frequently on the BBC and chat with listeners on 5Live. I’m not usually a fan of late night TV, though, not because it isn’t great, but merely because after I’ve spent a long day writing and walking Frankie and then running to a screening, I’m too pooped to watch when I get home.

But coming this summer is a good reason to stay up, or at least to record the goings on. James Corden is heading home this summer to shoot four episodes of The Late Late Show in London beginning Monday, June 17.

There’s a smashing lineup of guests, including Gillian Anderson, Millie Bobby Brown, Jessica Chastain, Michael Fassbender, Paul Giamatti, Tom Hanks, Chris Hemsworth, Lily James, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Simon Pegg and Sophie Turner; plus musical performances from Mumford & Sons and Little Mix. Hoping to see some Carpool Karaoke with Corden driving on the other side. Cheers!

Okay, so I only got one thing right about the Game of Thrones series finale — Daenerys was indeed assassinated, but not by Arya Stark. John Snow quietly did the honors. But for a series finale, there sure were a lot of opened ended stories dangling out there.

Spinoff series, perhaps? I think not. Prequels are already in the works. And Game of Thrones cost a freaking fortune to produce. I’m thinking a film franchise will follow these characters—Arya’s adventures West of Westeros is my bet for the first out of the gate.

I’d watch that. Who am I kidding, I’ll watch anything Game of Thrones related.

I could be totally off, and I admit to not following it as closely as some, but here are my prediction for the big finish of Game of Thrones:

Arya will ride in on a white horse and kill Daenerys, because in the last episode the Kahleesi proved she’s crazy deadly and can’t be trusted as we’d hoped. John Snow will end up on the Iron Throne because once his queen is removed, he’ll finally ‘get it,’ and Arya will be his Hand. Who better?

Sansa will rule as Queen of the North, and Brieanne of Tarth will serve with her, finally uniting with Tormund Giantsbane, who appreciates her for who she is, and will never leave her, unlike #$%@! Jamie Lannister.
