Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad) is joining Elizabeth Olsen in the HBO Max Original limited series Love and Death, which is about two church going couples enjoying small town family life in Texas until somebody picks up an axe. Powerhouses David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman and Lesli Linka Glatter, among others, will executive produce. The limited series is inspired by the book “Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs” and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly.

This time it’s set in 1949 in Los Angeles and explores what it means to be beautiful, the hidden truth behind the facades people present to the world, the effects of being ignored and overlooked by society, and finally, the lengths one woman will go in order to finally belong.
The second season stars Allison Tolman, Lana Parrilla, B.K. Cannon, Jordane Christie, Matthew Daddario, Veronica Falcón and Nick Frost.Look for the dark comedy from creator Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) on June 3, exclusively on Paramount+.
A Real Life Ted Lasso?
What happens when a couple of Yanks take over a UK soccer team? We’ll soon find out, as FX has placed a two-season order for Welcome to Wrexham, a docuseries tracking the dreams and people of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, as two Hollywood stars, Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club. We’ll keep you posted on its progress.
Sure to Make a Big Bang in Night Court
NBC is working on a sequel to the Emmy-nominated comedy series Night Court, having given the project a formal pilot order. And get this: it will star John Larroquette and Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch! We couldn’t wait to see where Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz landed!
But Can Gillian Anderson Get Laughs?
There’s no doubt that Gillian Anderson was sublime as Margaret Thatcher on The Crown — she has a Golden Globe, and Emmy and a Critics Choice Award to testify to that. But can she actually be funny in another European period TV show, The Great, as Joanna, Catherine’s (Elle Fanning) mother? Anderson will play the glamorous socialite known as “the maestro of marriage” for her ability to arrange partnerships for her daughters. Can’t wait to see how she does!
More On the Friends: The Reunion
Well, the teaser isn’t much, but we’re lapping up all the info we can get on the Friends: The Reunion, dropping on HBO Max Thursday, May 27. Stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will return to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show.
They’ll be joined by a variety of special guests. including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Tom Selleck, and Reese Witherspoon. This is truly event TV!

This is Us About to End
It isn’t quite official yet, but news is expected to break Friday that NBC’s This Is Us is about to come to an end. It looks like the upcoming 2021-22 broadcast season will be its last. Break out the tissues—for many reasons! While we’ll certainly miss the family, many of the actors, especially Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown, as well as Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, will have no trouble moving on.

Talk about a killer cast! STARZ just announced it has given an eight-episode series order for the horror comedy Shining Vale, starring Golden Globe® nominee Courteney Cox (Friends, Cougar Town), Academy Award® nominee and Emmy Award® winner Greg Kinnear, Oscar® winner Mira Sorvino (Hollywood, The Expecting) and more. It’s described as being “about a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Pat (Cox), who’s convinced she’s either depressed or possessed – turns out, the symptoms are exactly the same. Clever!

As part of her first-look deal with Amazon, 23-time Grand Slam tennis champ Serena Williams is busy at work currently shooting a docuseries that chroniclesher personal and professional life. No word yet on when it will air, but we’ll keep you posted.
Can’t Wait for This Netflix Love Story
Just what we need to heat up the summer (in a good way). A pair of interwoven stories set in the present and past, The Last Letter From Your Lover follows Ellie Haworth (Felicity Jones), an ambitious journalist who discovers a trove of secret love letters from 1965 and becomes determined to solve the mystery of the forbidden affair at their center. As she uncovers the story behind Jennifer Stirling (Shailene Woodley), the wife of a wealthy industrialist, and Anthony O’Hare (Callum Turner) the financial journalist assigned to cover him, a love story of Ellie’s own begins to unfold with the assistance of an earnest and endearing archivist (Nabhaan Rizwan) who helps her track down more letters.
