Pebbles All Grown Up
Fox is preparing to meet The Flintstones — again. The modern Stone Age family is all grown up, as Fox is is teaming with Warner Bros. Animation and Elizabeth Banks to develop Bedrock, an update of the beloved animated series. It will take place 20 years after the 1960s series, and revolve around a grown-up Pebbles Flintstone, who will be voiced by Banks.
Are We Getting Any Younger?
We could be, but not for long. Younger, the seminal series where Sutton Foster plays a GenX masquerading as a Millennial in the New York publishing scene, is in it’s final season, and new episodes are dropping weekly on—egads!—the new streamer Paramount+. I wanna see the last season, but do I really need another subscription? You can try out Paramount+ free for a week. I’ll leave it up to you when you want to take advantage of that offer.

It’s All About the Solos on Amazon
Count us among those who are highly anticipating the Amazon Original anthology series Solos, starring Academy Award-winning actors Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway and Helen Mirren, plus Uzo Aduba, Anthony Mackie, Dan Stevens, Constance Wu and many others. He made it! After hundreds of thousands of viewers lobbied for the self-confessed Jeopardy! super fan, LeVar Burton got his coveted guest host gig. The former Reading Rainbow host and Star Trek: The Next Generation actor is among the final batch of Jeopardy! guest hosts, joining Good Morning America anchors George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, author and former Jeopardy! champ David Faber and sportscaster Joe Buck. Going Back to Downtown Abbey
Looks like our favorite series has become a successful film franchise. Downton Abbey 2 has just been confirmed, with Focus Features promising us a nice 2021 Christmas present. Creator Julian Fellowes and most of the original cast — including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery will be back, and some names like Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West, will join the cast. Huzzah!
Chip and Jo Cook Up 5 New Shows
News flash! Five new Magnolia Network shows have just been announced, to air this summer when DIY Network Channel turns into the Magnolia Network. In the meantime, catch a preview of them all on Magnolia Network: A Look Ahead Vol. 2, an hour-long preview special that will drop on discovery+ on Friday, April 23 and will air the following day, Saturday, April 24, at 8 PM / 7 PM CT on DIY Network. Bridgerton X 4
Netflix is officially renewing Bridgerton for two more seasons. The streamer had already given a green light second season, and word just came in that the super popular period drama from executive producer Shonda Rhimes will have a third and fourth season as well. That’s a bold move, considering they have no idea how the show will fare without Rege Jean Page, the newly minted sex symbol who bowed out after season one to pursue big screen interests.
The Real Magic Mike = Red Hot Reality
Woo Hoo! The hottest reality series about to stream is HBO Max’s The Real Magic Mike, a competition series involving 10 men who have “lost their magic” competing for a cash prize and a chance to perform at the Magic Mike Live stage show in Las Vegas. Star Channing Tatum and director Steven Soderbergh are among the executive producers of the series. Gotta see if I can get in the audience of this one.
Hedging Their Bets
Gardening fans need to plant themselves in front of their favorite screens on Wednesday, May 12, when discovery+ drops a special 90-minute premiere episode of Clipped, the first competition series set in the spectacular world of topiary. Hosted by actor Michael Urie, the six-episode series follows seven real life “Edward Scissorhands” who create breathtaking sculptures out of meticulously trimmed shrubbery, plants and flowers— designing colorful, larger-than-life, living works of art. Judges will be food and gardening icon Martha Stewart, critically acclaimed landscape architect Fernando Wong and lifestyle, landscape and horticultural expert Chris Lambton.
