THE MORNING SHOW Returns September 17, 2021
You have plenty of time to get your Apple TV in order, so you can see the second season of one of our all time favorite drama series, The Morning Show, starring and executive produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Picking up after the explosive events of season one, season two finds the Morning Show team emerging from the wreckage of Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions, to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play. 9 PERFECT STRANGERS Coming Into Your Life Soon
As if the cast including Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall and Samara Weaving, among others, wasn’t enough, now they’ve released this provocative trailer. From award-winning executive producer David E. Kelley (The Undoing, Big Little Lies) and based on the New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, comes the limited series 9 Perfect Strangers, premiering August 18 on Hulu. My prediction? The series will be better than the book.

Malibu Rising on Hulu
Next up on my reading list? Taylor Jenkins Reid’s recently released novel Malibu Rising, which will also be on my viewing list before long, because it’s being developed into a series for Hulu. Malibu Rising is the follow-up to her New York Times best-selling book Daisy Jones & the Six— one of my recent faves. Her latest centers on Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit Riva — children to the famed rocker Mick Riva — as they throw their annual party to celebrate the end of summer in 1983. Things take a dramatic turn as the family is forced to confront secrets and reckon with their family history. It’s being developed for TV by Little Fires Everywhere creator, showrunner and executive producer Liz Tigelaar.
A Second Helping of HACKS is On the Menu
If you haven’t been watching new comedy Hacks on HBO Max, treat yourself and begin the binge! It stars Jean Smart as an acerbic Las Vegas standup of a certain age, who is doing everything she can to stay on top Meanwhile an unlikely young comedy writer played by Hannah Einbinder tries to claw her way up from the bottom by writing fresh jokes for the comedy queen. And time to do a happy dance—it’s just been renewed for Season 2.
Look for Chrissy Metz and LeAn Rimes on a New Reality Series
Discovery+ just gave the official green light to the series, Meet Your Makers Showdown, to be hosted by Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominated actress, and crafting enthusiast Chrissy Metz, who is an avid scrapbooker and former preschool teacher. In each of the six hour-long episodes, four of the world’s best artisans will complete challenges that test their creativity, skills and passion for their craft. Inspiration judge, multi-GRAMMY Awards® winning singer, songwriter, actress and author, LeAnn Rimes will lead fellow judges. Now there’s a cast!

Sneak Peek at the New FANTASY ISLAND
It isn’t much, but it’s enough to intrigue me. Fox has just released a teaser trailer of their Fantasy Island reboot, with Roselyn Sanchez (The Grand Hotel, Devious Maids) playing a descendant of Ricardo Montalban’s Mr. Roarke in the drama set to premiere Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 9 p.m.

Mr. Big is Back!
What would Sex and the City have been without Chris Noth as Mr. Big? And what would the sequel, Just Like That, be without that same dapper dude? Looks like we don’t have to find out, because HBO Max has just announced that Nothwill reprise his role in the new series.
In case you forgot, here’s the longline:
This new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series Sex and the City follows “Carrie” (Sarah Jessica Parker), “Miranda” (Cynthia Nixon) and “Charlotte” (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s. The ten-episode, half-hour series is scheduled to begin production in New York this summer. Sara Ramírez has also been cast.
