HGTV is Ready To Rock the Block in LA
Four of HGTV’s brightest home renovation experts will square off in the network’s newest competition series, Rock the Block. With just four weeks and $150,000 each, Leanne Ford (Restored by the Fords), Jasmine Roth (Hidden Potential), Mina Starsiak (Good Bones) and Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) will take identical suburban properties—located side-by-side in the Greater Los Angeles Area—and morph them into extraordinary custom dream homes. And get this: the show will be hosted by Property Brothers star and real estate expert Drew Scott. The HGTV star who adds the most value to her home will claim victory and bragging rights. Rock the Block is slated to premiere in fall 2019.
Frankie Says “Oui Oui” to Netflix
Forget about the kids — is there anything written about allowing your dog too much screen time? While Jim and I were on vacation, the fabulous folks at the Doggy BnB allowed Frankie to watch all his favorite French films on Netflix. Frankie’s comment when we returned? “Tres bone!”
Property Brothers Get ANOTHER Series
Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott have to be the busiest guys on television. They’ve just announced plans for yet another HGTV series, Property Brothers: Forever Home. They’ll focus on couples who are settled in their home but need the Bro’s expertise to make it perfect. These new clients aren’t looking to flip their property, because they know this place is “the one” where they can happily spend their lives. THE ACT – Hulu’s Latest Anthology Series Kills!
The Act is a Hulu Original miniseries, the first in a “seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories.”
This season tells the tale behind the ice-cold killing of the world’s most famous Munchausen-by-proxy mom, Dee Dee Blanchard (Patricia Arquette), who died at the behest of her daughter, Gypsy (Joey King). Hulu gave us a sneak peek at the first few episodes of the series, which makes its debut on March 20, 2019.

BIG LOVE Meets the TORTILLA CURTAIN
Big Love is one of my all-time favorite TV series, so when the guys behind it team up again to adapt the work of one of my all-time favorite authors, it gets my attention!
That’s right, Big Love creators Will Scheffer and Mark Olsen are adapting the immigration novel Tortilla Curtain by T.C. Boyle. No network has picked it up yet, but it’s being made by MGM Television. Good stuff!

Famous AMERICAN IDOL House Gets a Multi-Million Dollar Reno
Remember when American Idol contestants used to live together in a mansion? Remember the one they said was haunted and full of spiders?
Well, the Beverly Hills estate, now known as “Villa Colibri” has come a long way since then. The Munchkin CEO bought it, and it’s now one of the poshest places in town—with a posh price tag to go with it. $72 million, to be exact. But for that you get 17,000 square feet of living space, a golf course, three pools and more. Check it out here.
They’re Baaaack — 90210 Gets a Mini Revival With Original Cast
Clever and ambitious. That’s how I would describe the stars behind the new 90210 revival, which will air on Fox. You can watch the six-episode “event series” this summer, with original stars Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling playing “heightened versions of themselves.” Ah, the ego.
But perhaps it’s merited. The show was created by Darren Star, was executive produced by Aaron Spelling, ran for 10 seasons and was the uber producer’s longest-running show (even eating Dynasty).

Julia Roberts Returns to Amazon?
After making quite the impression (Critics Choice nomination) for her starring role on Homecoming, Julia Roberts is possibly returning to the small screen, and to Amazon, as she’s in talks to star in and executive produce Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, a limited series based on the intriguing novel by Jo Piazza. It’s a great read, BTW, and you have plenty of time to finish it before it airs (if it gets a green light, which is almost certain).
Samantha is Back and Filthy Rich
Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall is finally coming back with a vengeance. She’s starring in and executive producing a Fox pilot called Filthy Rich. Doesn’t that sound deliciously dishy?
She’ll be collaborating with The Help writer-director Tate Taylor, Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox TV. Imagine a larger than life Southern gothic-dramedy centering on two strong women who will go to any length to protect their loved ones and get their due. Crossing my fingers it will get the green light!

Ryan Murphy’s the Busiest Guy in Hollywood — See What’s Up Next for Him
Cross Glee, American Horror Story and Feud co-creator Ryan Murphy with old time Tinseltown and what do you get? Hollywood, his latest series to go into production for (who else?) Netflix.
Principle photography will begin this summer, but that’s about all we know. Will there be music? Dancing? Will it be a comedy or a drama? Stay tuned, my friends. And read more about this one at HollywoodReporter.com.
Meanwhile, Murphy is one busy guy. He’s already working on Ratched, a One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest prequel series starring Sarah Paulson, and The Politician with Ben Platt, both at Netflix. Also, he’s working on the next season of American Horror Story and Pose, for FX, and 911 over at Fox.
The futures of his other shows, American Crime Story and Feud are uncertain, because they’ve been challenged to come up with a subject for them.
