New Dark Girlfriend Comedy on Netflix Alert!
Watch the trailer (below) and you too will be intrigued by the all-new Netflix Original Series, Dead to Me, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini launching globally on Friday, May 3rd.
It’s a dark comedy in which Jen (Applegate) is a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. Judy (Cardellini) is an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann’s cookies and a shared affinity for The Facts of Life, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.
Dead to Me, created by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, One Big Happy), is an addictive dark comedy that dives into the painfully unfiltered, weirdly funny waters of grief, loss and forgiveness.
Sounds like something I’m going to love, and my husband will leave me to watch or with my girlfriends, over bottles of wine and Entenmann’s cookies.

Fosse/Verdon Review – It’s Showtime on FX!

This one’s gonna be good: Prolific and brilliant TV show creator Ryan Murphy is working on a new Netflix Original Series called The Politician, and regulars include: Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, Laura Dreyfuss and myriad others.
Here’s the rundown:
Payton Hobart (Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, has known since age seven that he’s going to be President of the United States. But first he’ll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School. To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image. Full of dark comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy’s The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician.
Only problem with it? It doesn’t drop until September 27th. Wah!
Captain Marvel Directs! Brie Larson Film Coming to Netflix Soon
And it even has unicorns and Samuel L. Jackson! Brie Larson both directed and starred in the film Unicorn Store, set to premiere on Netflix April 5.
What’s it about? Well…
Kit (Larson) is a lonely twenty-something dreamer who’s reluctant to leave the comforts of childhood and fully embrace adulthood. But when art school sends her packing, Kit is forced to move back home with her parents and take a temp job in a boring office. Just when she’s resolved to finally put her Care Bears aside and grow up, a mysterious salesman (Jackson) enters Kit’s life and offers to give her childlike heart its greatest desire.

Hallmark Wants You to Win a Living Room Renovation
The Hallmark Channel has just launched a Renovation Fever Sweepstakes that will bestow on one viewer a prize package that includes $50,000 that can be used toward a family room renovation and a trip for two to LA. Two of the Best Shows on TV Right Now Are On…CBS All Access
I know it’s not fun to pay to watch CBS programming digitally, but these two shows are definitely worth the hassle. The Good Wife spinoff The Good Fight starring Christine Baranski just keeps on getting better and better, while Star Trek: Discovery’s second season outdoes itself with every episode.
What I love about both these shows are that they boldly go where no TV production has ever gone before. They’re not just another lawyer show and space show. Get the week free trial and you’ll see what I mean.
The Latest Netflix Interactive Series “You vs. Wild” Looks Really Cool!
I admit I’m not a fan of the Netflix Black Mirror interactive episode called Bandersnatch, but You vs. Wild looks way better. Starring hunky survival expert Bear Grylls, viewers join him on exciting adventures all over the world. Dense jungles, towering mountains, brutal deserts, and mysterious forests await, with tough decisions around every corner. In this groundbreaking interactive adventure series, you make all the decisions and whether or not Bear succeeds or fails is totally up to you.
Says Grylls: “I’m so proud to deliver this first-of-its-kind live-action interactive series, really giving viewers an all access pass to explore the world and its landscapes in my boots. The stakes are high in this one!”
