Eugene Levy Has a Reality Show Too!
Like father, like son. After the announcement of Dan Levy’s new HBO Max reality competition series The Big Brunch, Apple TV+ announced a series order for The Reluctant Traveler, a new, globe-trotting travel series that will be hosted and executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek). The series will see Eugene Levy visit some of the world’s most remarkable hotels, as well as explore the people, places and cultures that surround them. Self confessedly not your average travel show host – he’s not usually adventurous or well versed in globe-trotting – he’s agreed the time is right for him to broaden his horizons. Should be fun! Let’s Do Brunch With Dan Levy
HBO Max has ordered the unscripted cooking competition series called The Big Brunch, from Dan Levy and Boardwalk Pictures, which is slated to premiere next year. It’s described as a cooking competition series that celebrates the most inspiring undiscovered culinary voices from every corner of the country. Chefs will be offered the opportunity share their stories and their business dreams, while also competing for a life altering prize. All while finding innovative and personal ways to redefine what it means to dine between 11am and 3pm.
Says Levy, co-creator and star of of Schitt’s Creek, “Everybody has a friend, a family member, or a co-worker that is extraordinary at what they do, they just need a leg up so that their talents can be appreciated on a larger scale. I created this show for them, the local culinary heroes of America, who deserve a spotlight. That, and who doesn’t want to watch maple syrup being poured slowly over a golden stack of perfectly cooked, creme brûlée inspired French toast?”
Next Season of Brother vs. Brother Revealed
It’s official: Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott will return in a six-episode season of HGTV house-flipping competition Brother vs. Brother, where the guys are back in the Los Angeles-area to turn lukewarm homes into hot-ticket properties. But we knew that, as they revealed it to me in an exclusive interview a few months ago. In any case, the latest season of Brother vs. Brother is slated to premiere in summer 2022.
Even Greater Omens
Woo Hoo! Production has begun in Scotland on the second season of the Amazon Original series Good Omens, starring award-winning actors Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who return in the leading roles of the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley. Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.

Set your recorders now: In the wake of 9/11 and on the heels of the 20thanniversary of the deadly attacks, National Geographic has released series trailer for the scientific thriller, The Hot Zone: Anthrax. The episodic anthology series, starring Tony Goldwyn and Daniel Dae Kim, will premiere during a three-night event over Thanksgiving weekend, beginning Sunday, Nov. 28, at 9/8c on National Geographic and will stream on Hulu. The first installment of The Hot Zone episodic anthology series, featuring Julianna Margulies, focused on an Ebola outbreak and became the network’s most-watched scripted series ever, and it was superb!

Sneak Peak at ‘The Unforgivable’ With Sandra Bullock

Succession Continues
HBO has renewed the Emmy® winning drama series Succession for a fourth season, on the heels of the season three premiere of the drama series, which drew over 1.4 million viewers across all platforms. That marked a series high and the best premiere night of any HBO Original series since the launch of HBO Max.
Succession explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his four grown children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Connor (Alan Ruck). What We Streamed Last Week
I’m thrilled to see that Denis Villeneuve’s mercurial new film Dune was the number one streamed movie last week, although viewers really should see it on the big screen to get the full effect. Better seen on HBO Max than nowhere. TV show viewers showed equally good taste, with Hulu’s fabulous Only Murders in the Building topping the series list. It seems a good watching week was had by all.
Nicole Kidman to Star as Lucy in ‘Being the Ricardos’
As if you didn’t have enough to look forward to, Amazon Studios will release Being the Ricardos in theaters on December 10th, and globally on Prime Video December 21st, 2021. (That’s the day before my birthday, in case you didn’t know). It’s packed with A-Listers. Do I hear Oscar buzz? Just take a look at the description:
