Poor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, currently of Walking Dead fame as the despicable Nagen, (although I thought he was infinitely sexier in The Good Wife), is suffering from stalkerish fans who hang out in front of his house. Of course I know where he lives, but I’m not tellin’ — I don’t want him to have to resort to more tweets like the one he posted on July 3: Dear people that think it’s a solid plan to come to our house, take pictures, drive up to house, knock on door… it’s not a good plan. Can’t get out of town this week? The 4th of July falling on a Wednesday does make vacations a little awkward for those of us who only get one day off, or worse, no paid vacation time. Might I suggest an overnighter in one L.A.’s most hospitable and glamorous locals? Binge watch the show you’ve been dying to catch up on by night, hang out by the pool by day. Or, if you stay at the mercurial Beverly Hills Hotel, you can rent a cabana and binge watch by the pool! That, my friends, is the ultimate TV lover’s vacay fantasy. Bet you thought you’d heard the last of these Trump outcasts, but not so, according to Marlow Stern of The Daily Beast.  “Two of Tinseltown’s top talent agencies are aggressively pitching talk shows on behalf of ex-Trump mouthpieces Sean Spicer and Anthony Scaramucci,” he writes. If it comes down to either/or, I think that although Scaramucci is a bit more charismatic, Spicer could always have Melissa McCarthy fill in for him when he wants a vacation. That I’d watch.

I recently dished with former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher, who, in my humble opinion, has probably made more of herself than any of her colleagues, both before and after the show. She’s a true real estate developer and house flipper, and she got her start at Baylor University in Waco, TX, of all places, home of Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame. With the release of the film Uncle Drew, based on Pepsi commercials featuring NBA star Kyrie Irving as an elderly basketball superstar, The Wrap decided to take a look at other movies and TV series that got their start on commercials. They include an NBC TV movie based on the “Mean” Joe Greene Coke Super Bowl commercial; a kids’ series based on Jim Varney as Ernest P. Worrell saying “Know what I mean?”; that Geico caveman commercial that inspired the short-lived ABC sitcom; and a CBS sitcom based on talking Baby Bob from the FreeInternet.com commercials. Showtime just cast Russell Crowe as late, controversial Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The eight-episode limited series is based on Gabriel Sherman’s book, The Loudest Voice in the Room. Here’s how Showtime describes it:  “In today’s politically charged media landscape, no figure looms larger, even after his passing, than Roger Ailes, molding Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government. All you fabulous Fixer Upper fans (proudly count me in) will be thrilled to know that Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed baby #5 into the fold on Saturday, and both Mommy and new son “Crew,” are doing just fine. The comely couple is taking a break from TV production right now to focus on the family, but my bet that as soon as little Crew is standing on his own two feet, give or take a month, the Gaines will make their TV comeback in a big way: Hosting a home reno talk show, live from Waco. I’d watch!

NBC just released premiere dates for its 2018-2019 fall schedule, and without further ado, This Is Us returns Tuesday, September 25 at 9 pm. Also, the two-hour debut of season 15 of The Voice, this time starring coaches Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, happens Monday, September 24 at 8 pm. Comedies Superstore and Will & Grace start their new seasons Thursday, October 4 at 8 pm and 9 pm, respectively. And for all who just can’t seem to get enough of the Windy City, the all-Chicago lineup – Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. – bows Wednesday, September 26 beginning at 8 pm. The 20^th season premiere of Law & Order: SVU airs Thursday, September 27 at 9 pm. Go Mariska!

Because she needs more media on her plate, Oprah Winfrey has just sealed a ”unique, multi-year content partnership” with Apple to “create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world.” But she’ll still be the chairperson and CEO of her cable network OWN. Apparently Netflix, Amazon and Hulu were after her as well. Ryan Murphy has just released big news about Season 8! It’s going to be a crossover of earlier seasons Murder House and Coven. To be honest, my emotions are mixed. I LOVED Murder House, but thought Coven was a little too gruesome. Still, I just visited the real life New Orleans mansion featured in Coven, and it’s always fun to see places you’ve been. I’m in! Amazon Studios recently announced the signing of a first look deal with Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Nicole Kidman and her production company Blossom Films for theatrical, television series and digital content available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Kidman’s other productions have included the feature films Rabbit Hole, and The Family Fang,  Big Little Lies, and the adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel Truly Madly Guilty into a limited series, plus The Undoing for HBO, which will go into production in 2019 and star Kidman.
