Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XVI will sit and stay on your TV screen Sunday, February 2 at 3pm, with Team Ruff and Team Fluff featuring 96 puppies from 61 shelters. This year includes “Pup Close and Personal” stories feature Jonathan and Drew Scott, Whitney Cummings and Emmylou Harris.
Most Popular on Netflix in 2019
What were people watching most on Netflix in 2019? The results are out, and they’re surprising. Despite all the promotion and accolades for The Irishman and The Two Popes, the most popular movie on the streamer was Adam Sandler’s dreadful Murder Mystery. Michael Bay’s Netflix original 6 Underground was second, with Disney’s The Incredibles 2 third, and The Irishman fourth.
Series were more predictable. Netflix’s most popular original series were Stranger Things, The Witcher, and The Umbrella Academy. See their full set of MVPs here.
Watch for Me and Eddie Murphy at the Critics Choice Awards!
Eddie Murphy will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 25th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. Murphy will be feted for his extraordinary roles over the years, most recently his portrayal of the legendary Rudy Ray Moore in Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name, for which he is nominated for Best Actor.

It’s year end, and every media outlet is running their list of “Best of 2019 TV shows.” It’s especially daunting this year, because they’re also running Best of the First 20 Years of the Millennium lists. Haven’t seen most of the TV shows? Relax! Neither have I! Do you realize that there were more than 500 shows on TV last year? News Flash: NO ONE HAS SEEN THEM ALL, and you don’t have to! Pop a gummy and chill.

I know this has nothing whatsoever to do with TV, but the Trader Joe’s Turkey & Stuffing in Croute is so phenomenal I just have to recommend it. On a cold winter’s night when I have to rush to a screening or sit through hours and hours on TV and there’s no time to cook, it’s the perfect, scrumptious meal. Add a salad and you’re good. Comes with gravy and cranberry sauce. At about 12.99, it’s a remarkable deal!

Daniel Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter is probably my favorite television critic. To be honest, I think his judgement is way better than my own. He recently came out with a list of the Top 10 TV shows of 2019, and it’s full of surprises. Who Will Be America’s Top Dog? (Hint: His Initials are Not FF)
A&E Network’s ultimate K9 competition series America’s Top Dog, from MGM’s Big Fish Entertainment will premiere Wednesday, January 8 at 9PM ET/PT. The series brings together top K9 cops and civilian dogs alongside their handlers as they compete nose-to-nose on the ultimate K9 obstacle course. The series is hosted by veteran sports broadcaster Curt Menefee alongside expert dog trainer Nick White. Frankie Feldman is bummed he didn’t make the cut, but what can I say? It’s a dog’s life.
