No, Frankie Feldman will not be competing. He’ll be at home watching on the couch, because once again they’ve snubbed his distinguished breed.
Apple Takes a Bite of 80s Sci-Fi Nostalgia with Amazing Stories
If you were around in the 1980s, then you may remember Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories. The Emmy-winning anthology television series was based on a beloved monthly magazine that brought readers the best in sci-fi and speculative fiction (with the occasional supernatural or horror tale thrown in). Well, everything old is new again and in this world of rebooted reboots, Amazing Stories is back and extended to a 50-minute runtime on Apple TV. Sign Me Up! Baking Bootcamp with Martha Stewart
Yummy! Food Network just wrapped production on a new primetime series called Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart. It’s sort of a baking boot-camp mixed with camp-inspired games and challenges. Stewart helps guide six amateur bakers in a culinary retreat that has them braving the outdoor elements. Why wasn’t I notified about auditions?

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) and nonfiction producers’ organization NPACT are reuniting for the second annual “Critics Choice Real TV Awards,” honoring the best of unscripted, documentary series and reality content. Netflix Reality Show Attempts to See if Love Is Blind
My hubby and I are a little obsessed over the new Netflix dating show Love is Blind, in which couples meet, woo and become engaged without ever seeing each other! The show then follows the couples through meeting in person for the first time, going on a pre-honeymoon, moving in together, meeting each other’s families, and (hopefully) making it to the altar. It’s a little cuckoo, but a lot of fun. You can binge the whole series now, and the couples will reunite on a March 5 reunion episode. The “dating experiment” is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey.
The BIG New All-Stars of Watergate
What do you get when you combine Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, Armie Hammer and Joel Edgerton? A new television series called Gaslit, a modern take on Watergate that will focus on the untold stories and forgotten characters of the scandal. The guys behind Mr. Robot, Sam Esmail and Robbie Pickering, are behind it. They promise to explore Nixon’s bumbling, opportunistic subordinates and the those aiding and abetting their crimes, as well as the tragic whistle-blowers who would eventually bring the whole enterprise crashing down. Jude Law + Taika Waititi = The Auteur
Showtime has pulled out all the stops on its new horror-comedy The Auteur, a half-hour series based on a graphic novel starring. First of, it stars Jude Law, and second, it’s directed by Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, The Mandalorian), who will also co-write. The series is based on a film producer desperate to make a great horror movie after a massive bomb, who accidentally traps his production on a backlot with a serial killer. Could be good for some seriously scary laughs.
It’s a Big Week for TV
Some of my favorite and most anticipated shows are premiering this week, while others are saying goodbye. Hunters, starring Al Pacino and executive produced by Jordan Peele, is set in the 1970’s and based on Nazi hunters. It premieres on Amazon Friday. Also on Friday Disney+ starts airing the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
On the goodbye list are Fresh Off the Boat — it’s final episode airs Friday, and the last episode ever of CBS’ Criminal Minds runs Wednesday.
Just for your watching pleasure, the fifth season of Better Call Saul and the 10th season of the The Walking Dead premiere on AMC on Sunday.

A Sneak Peek at Apple TV’s ‘Amazing Stories’
Apple has released a trailer for its five tale series Amazing Stories, an update Steven Spielberg’s 1980s series. You can’t help but be impressed by the John Williams theme, as well as poignant clips with the late Robert Forster. Like the original, the new version will involve supernatural and fantasy stories. The Cellar is the first installment, debuting March 6. Can’t wait!
