Seeing Stars at the 2015 Critics Choice TV Awards

Wow. Now that I know that so many of my absolute favorite TV/movie stars are showing up for the Critics Choice TV Awards on Sunday, May 31 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, I’m really excited about attending. I mean, Charlize Theron, who was absolutely transcendent in Mad Max: Fury Road, is showing up to present a special award, and Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story: Freak Show) and Allison Janney (Mom) will also represent. Not to mention Bill Paxton, whom I’ll never forget from Big Love, and Olivier Martinez, both of whom are really hot right now for Texas Rising.
Other presenters include CCTA nominees Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory), who was the only actor to take home two Critics’ Choice Television Awards last year. In addition, there’s Scott Bakula (NCIS: New Orleans), Chris Colfer (Glee), Tracee Ellis Ross (black-ish), Anna Faris (Mom), Angie Harmon (Rizzoli & Isles), Josh Holloway (Colony), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield (New Girl), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), Ben McKenzie (Gotham), Chelsea Peretti and Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Matt Walsh and Tim Simons (Veep) and Constance Zimmer & Shiri Appleby (UnREAL).
Although the radiant Charlize is not involved in television right now, the A Million Ways to Die in the West co-star will present the Critics’ Choice LOUIS XIII Genius Award to two-time Emmy Award winner Seth MacFarlane, who has demonstrated unprecedented excellence in the television arts. His major television credits include Emmy Award-winning series Family Guy (FOX), American Dad! (FOX/TBS) and the CCTA and Emmy Award-winning series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.
Charlize is sure to look so stunning that I’ll probably feel like Frankie’s breakfast next to her, even with axel grease on her bald noggin. So don’t expect any photos of us mugging together, unless, of course, my husband is quick and sneaky with his iPhone.
But perhaps, just perhaps, you’ll be able to see me darting around the background in the gorgeous coral dress designer Sue Wong arranged for me to have. I’m on the Executive Committee of the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) and since we’re the ones who nominate and vote for the awards and throw the whole shindig, I’m sure to have a great table — like last year, when I sat with A&E execs and the stars of The Americans.
But let’s face it: coming down from my wild flight of fantasy, who cares what I’m wearing or where I’m sitting? This year it’s all about Charlize! Make sure you set your recording devices for Sunday, May 31 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, or watch live. There are all sorts of fun surprises in store.
