Alex Rodrique to Sell the Home He Bought From Meryl Streep
Now that Alex Rodriguez has bought a multi-million dollar Manhattan apartment with J-Lo, he no longer needs his swanky L.A. pied a terre.

Months after baseball great Alex Rodriguez and entertainer Jennifer Lopez bought a $15.3 million high-rise love nest together in New York City, A-Rod is shuffling his property portfolio again. He’s selling the Hollywood Hills home he bought from Meryl Streep, listing it for $6.5 million.
He hopes to do better than the multi-Oscar winner did on the home. She originally listed the architecturally significant home for $6.75 million, but Rodriguez purchased it for $4.8 million in 2014.
The L.A. home was built in 1954 as part of a cutting-edge architectural program and christened the Honnold & Rex Architectural Research house. Just before Streep bought it for $4.5 million in February 2013, it was redone from top to bottom by designer/architect Xorin Balbes and featured in Architectural Digest.

Although not huge by Hollywood standards—it’s 3,700 square feet with four bedrooms and four baths—it’s as stylish as can be.
The home has towering walls of glass with stunning views of the hills and the city.

The two-story living area opens to a courtyard with a pool, spa, fire pit, fountains, and built-in seating. Large televisions are mounted in the outdoor living space.

Italian marble flooring runs throughout the home, which also features a walnut staircase with a sculptural railing. Extensive skylights bathe the home in natural light, and the spacious white walls are ideal for displaying an art collection.

One of the more striking features in the home is the double-story fireplace made of sculpted brick.

In between his real estate wheeling and dealing and hanging with Lopez, the 43-year-old former slugger serves as an MLB analyst and reporter for Fox and ESPN. He also dabbles in art collecting.
