The Good Wife Loses Her Best Frenemy
The Good Wife fans were gobsmacked last season when Will Gardner (Josh Charles) was shot by a client and left the show for good. But we won’t be so taken aback at the end of Season Six when Kalinda meets her ultimate fate, because it’s been announced Emmy winner Archie Punjabi has just signed a talent deal with 20th Century Fox, and will be leaving the CBS legal drama behind.
You’ll actually be seeing a lot more of her on television, though, because she’ll be starring in her own drama pilot next spring. And you’ll also see her on the big screen (she first starred in Bend It Like Beckham), in a New Line film called San Andreas.
So the question is, how will The Good Wife writers send her off? Will she take a bullet for Cary? Get caught in a lesbian love triangle? Maybe she’ll move to the Big Apple or the Big Orange to start her own detective/fixing agency. Hey–she could always get a job with Ray Donovan…
Series creators Robert and Michelle King will reluctantly bid her adieu, but believe she deserves this next big break. “Archie is an amazing actress who helped build Kalinda from the ground up as an enigmatic, powerful, and sexy character,” they said. “It’s been a pleasure to write for her, and we’ll be sad to see her go…We look forward to meeting all the wonderful new characters Archie brings to the screen. But either way, we’re keeping the boots.”
I’d just like to get ahold of one of her leather jackets.
I love Kalinda! Can’t wait for this show.
