It’s good to be a fashion designer. Some of the most lavish homes on the planet belong to them, e.g.: the the Versace Mansion, Sue Wong’s various estates and even the $85 million mansion built by QVC handbag merchant Bruce Makowsky, currently under consideration by Jay Z and Beyonce. But perhaps my favorite amongst the dashing designer digs belongs to designer Donna Karan, who has just put a portion of her Turks and Caicos compound on the market for $39 million.

It’s no wonder designer Donna Karan calls the property “Sanctuary;” it’s design is stunning, yet tranquil and zen, with elegant yoga studio included. She’s keeping a large house on about three acres, but selling a seven acre partial which features two, four-bedroom villa estates, each with a second-floor master bedroom with amazing ocean views, three en-suite bedrooms and its own infinity pool–there are three pools total on the offered spread. And of course their are long stretches of powdery soft beach included, all surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.

It’s located on the very exclusive Parrot Cay, and residents get to take advantage of the amenities of the five-star COMO Shambhala Resort, which includes a wellness retreat , natural and holistic healing therapies, spa services, sporting facilities, restaurants and boutiques, etc.

The structures themselves are stunning, with exotic elements like cedar and coral stone walls, European walnut floors, and light filled raw travertine baths. Most of the beautiful furnishing and works of art are included. Karan has filled the villas with collectibles from her global travels, including teak furniture and eclectic works of art from Bali, Africa and other faraway places.
