I KNEW it! You nominate a guy for a Critics Choice Award, he starts feeling like a million bucks. Or $9.2 million bucks, to be exact, because that’s what he just paid Jason Statham for his gorgeous, 1929 Mediterranean mansion in the Outpost Estates area of the Hollywood Hills. I sat next to him at the Critics Choice TV Awards in June, and no one could have been sweeter or happier to be there, because it’s usually his Big Bang Theory co-star, Jim Parsons, who gets nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. I’m glad to see he’s enjoying the fruits of his oh-so distinguished labors.

The home, for which Galecki paid $201,000 over the published asking price, actually has quite the Hollywood pedigree. Jason Statham and Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Alice Huntington-Whiteley purchased it in 2011 for $7.325 million, but before that Ben Stiller and Lou Diamond Phillips were Lords of this manor, although not at the same time.

There are at least 5,334 square feet of interior space, according to tax records, which include six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a professionally equipped screening room (natch)

formal living and dining rooms,

a kitchen that flows into a breakfast area,

a library/study,

a gym and an office, among a host of other assets. But it’s the colorfully tiled fireplaces, terraces and courtyards that have me agog over the place. They remind me of my Nana’s Spanish style mansion, also built during the Prohibition era, with secret drinking rooms tucked in here and there. I’d love to see if any of them still exist, after the numerous renovations this house has gone through.

There are vaulted and beamed ceilings throughout, and a separate living space over a detached, two-car garage, the perfect living space for a personal assistant. And of course there’s a “private resort-style pool,” with a pergola covered lounge area. The grounds are about a half acre in size.

There’s absolutely no need to worry about Galecki biting off more real estate than he can chew, in case you’re wondering. The 40-year-old is currently being paid $1 million per episode for The Big Bang Theory, and before that he was a regular on Roseanne from 1992-1997. You’ve also seen him on TV shows such as American Dreamer and Entourage, and heard his voice in series like Family Guy and American Dad, among many other projects.
