Saatva Helps You Sleep Like a (Nepo) Baby

Recently I was invited to a celebration for the new Saatva Las Vegas Viewing Room at Tivoli Village, one of my favorite Summerlin shopping and dining areas. With a husband who is extremely “discerning” about his sleep platforms, it feels like I’ve visited over 1oo mattress showrooms, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this new Saatva location. It’s more of an enjoyable, relaxing sleep experience—and I’ve sampled famous, six-figure Hästens displays.
That’s right. There are privileged souls (many of them with Hollywood pedigrees) who sleep on $250,000–$500,000 beds, some of them only too happy to tell you about them. One nepo-baby, whose name I won’t reveal but who wouldn’t surprise you, insisted I interview her in her bedroom while I was lying on her “half a million dollar mattress” as she, covered only by a sheet, was sprawled out on a massage table at the foot of her bed, getting a good and proper rolfing.
We’re nowhere near that demographic, but when we first moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, furnishing the bedroom was a major priority. If only Saatva would have been around then! It gives a restful bedroom boutique vibe rather than a brazenly lit warehouse.
It’s also a place where you can try out and purchase everything you need—from whisper soft linens to bed frames and other corresponding bedroom furniture to rugs, pillows, lighting, and of course the mattresses themselves, in a clean and pristine, yet gentle, pressure-free environment.
You can even find comfy pet beds, crib bedding and softy-soft sloth plushies for babies. I couldn’t resist two of the latter, as two of my nieces recently gave birth, and cool Aunt Lisa is known for her unique prezzies.
Saatva’s origin story
Founded in 2010 by furniture industry veteran Ron Rudzin and entrepreneur Ricky Joshi, Saatva helped pioneer the direct-to-consumer luxury mattress model. Instead of relying on traditional mattress showrooms filled with confusing brand names and aggressive salespeople, the company originally focused on selling high-end mattresses online and delivering them directly to customers.
The name “Saatva” comes from the Sanskrit word sattva, which refers to purity and balance—qualities the company says are reflected in both its products and its approach to wellness.
Since its launch, the company has grown rapidly and now generates hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue while remaining focused on premium sleep products made in the United States.
Over the years, the brand expanded from its flagship innerspring mattress into a full collection of sleep solutions, including memory foam, latex, hybrid, and adjustable air mattresses, along with bedding and bedroom furniture.
What Makes Saatva Different
It’s a bit of a disruptor tale, really. While many competitors ship compressed mattresses in boxes, Saatva mattresses are delivered full-size by movers who set them up in your home—no awkward wrestling with vacuum-packed foam required.
The company also emphasizes craftsmanship and premium materials. Most models feature layered coils, supportive foams, and plush Euro pillow tops designed to support spinal alignment and reduce pressure points.
But the real difference may be the company’s service philosophy. Saatva offers a 365-night home trial, white-glove delivery, and mattress removal, an approach designed to make the buying process feel more like checking into a luxury hotel than navigating a warehouse showroom.
That “luxury without the middleman” model allows the brand to sell premium products without traditional retail markups.
Eco-Friendly Comfort
In an era when many celebrities—from Leonardo DiCaprio to Emma Watson—champion sustainability, Saatva’s environmental focus is another reason the brand has attracted attention.
Many Saatva mattresses incorporate organic cotton, recycled steel coils, natural latex, and wool, avoiding potentially harmful chemicals like formaldehyde or heavy metals.
The company’s manufacturing and delivery network is also designed to reduce environmental impact. Because mattresses are produced in regional factories and delivered locally, they typically travel less than 100 miles to reach customers, minimizing transportation emissions.
Certifications such as CertiPUR-US, GREENGUARD Gold, and GOTS organic cotton standards help ensure the materials meet strict safety and sustainability guidelines.
For eco-conscious shoppers like me, that’s a super appealing bonus.
A New Showroom Experience in Las Vegas
The newly opened Las Vegas Viewing Room at Tivoli Village spans more than 3,700 square feet and is designed to transform mattress shopping into a calm, design-focused experience.
Rather than rows of beds under fluorescent lights, the space blends architecture, technology, and curated displays to create a relaxed environment where customers can explore Saatva’s product lineup. CEO Ron Rudzin says the goal is to deepen connections with communities while offering a more personal retail experience.
Shoppers are invited to use a comfy, blanket type cover when they try out the mattress, so they don’t have to spread out where others have gone before.
For Las Vegas—a city that thrives on spectacle but increasingly embraces wellness trends—the showroom fits right in.
Sleep Fit for Stars, Athletes and the Rest of Us
Luxury sleep is a hot topic in the sports and entertainment culture that’s red hot in Las Vegas and elsewhere. In fact, Saatva has been named the official mattress and bedding provider for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, highlighting the growing recognition that quality sleep is essential for performance and recovery.
That kind of partnership places the brand squarely in the realm of elite wellness—alongside the trainers, nutritionists, and sleep coaches who help keep celebrities and athletes in top shape.
As I glide through the years, I’m increasingly aware of how important sleep is to thwart the negative effects of aging. A good night’s sleep affects us mentally, physically and emotionally, and is on every expert’s list of things to give top priority to as we get older.
The Bottom Line
With eco-friendly materials, handcrafted construction, and a customer-first approach, the brand has carved out a unique space in the crowded mattress industry—one that blends wellness, sustainability, and a touch of luxury.
And knock me over with a down feather, they’re surprisingly reasonably priced. Saatva mattresses run from about $800 for a youth model to around $4,700 for a queen-sized Saatva Solaire Adjustable Firmness Mattress. But frequent sales and specials make these premium mattresses even more affordable.
As a matter of fact, just writing about Saatva makes me want to curl up and take a nap. I need all the sleep I can comfortably get.
