Director Ridley Scott is back this fall with a new movie, House of Gucci, which is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Sara Gay Forden. We go ga-ga over anything to do with high fashion, but put Academy Award Winner Lady Gaga herself into the biopic and we are so there! Check out her chic look below, along with the new House of Gucci trailer and character posters.
Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani Martinelli, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver in the film). During the 1980s, while she was married to Gucci, she was quite the affluent Italian socialite and high fashion personality. Let’s just say she did not go quietly into the good night after Maurizio left her, and mayhem ensued.
So did prison. The real Patrizia is still alive and kicking back today. Instead of being thrilled that Lady Gaga is playing her on the big screen, she is reported to be miffed that Gaga did not meet with her before accepting the role. Frankly, we’d be thrilled if Lady Gaga’s dogs were cast as one of us.
The film also stars a startlingly unrecognizable Jared Leto, as Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons, distinguished as ever as Rodolfo Gucci, Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jack Huston as Domenico De Sole and Salma Hayek as Pina Auriemma. What a cast!
The scintillating story is inspired by the shocking, semi-true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.
