The John Lautner designed circular home in Sherman Oaks hits the market for the first time since it was built in 1950.

The architectural masterpiece designed by one of my favorite modern architects, John Lautner, can be had for $1.6 million, which is not bad for a home situated on a 5,556-square-foot lot in the hills of Sherman Oaks, South of Ventura.

The unconventional residence was originally built for Louise Foster, who was a schoolteacher, and has been in the family ever since.  It’s a bit of a landmark with its conspicuously curved wooden walls and spaceship design.

“Not only is this iconic John Lautner home completely unique in its shape and design, it’s the first time it has been on the market, making it a rare opportunity that will captivate those looking for something truly original,” says listing agent Aaron Kirman of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass.
