Tour Lady Gaga’s House — Where the Sizzling ‘Star Is Born’ Chemistry Began
Lady Gaga’s house in Malibu is inspiration central

I know a thing or two about Lady Gaga’s house, which she calls her “Gypsy Palace.” I did a feature on it for HGTV before she moved in, and one of my besties lives on the same street. Walk your Doodle down the drive, and you’ll occasionally catch her cruising in that big truck thing of hers. Malibu is an interesting place.
The hype surrounding the release of A Star Is Born, Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s remake of the classic film, has sparked renewed interest in Gaga’s sprawling $22.5 million estate. After all, it’s said to be the place where the two stars sealed the deal.

It seems that after seeing Gaga perform “La Vie en Rose” in 2016 at a benefit held in Sean Parker‘s backyard in Los Angeles, Cooper (who had already signed on to direct and star in the film) knew he’d found his leading lady. So he set up a meeting with Gaga the next day, and she welcomed him into her not-so-humble home.

“She came down the stairs and we went out to her patio and I saw her eyes, and honestly, it clicked and I went, Wow,” Cooper told Vogue. He pretty much offered her the part on the spot.
Gaga was equally taken with Cooper during their first encounter. “The second that I saw him, I was, like, Have I known you my whole life? It was an instant connection, instant understanding of one another.”
After learning of their fateful meeting, I thought you might like to see where the magic began:
Gaga purchased the 10,000-square-foot home in September 2014, and it was featured in Gaga: Five Foot Two, the Netflix documentary that followed the star as she finished up her latest album and prepared to perform at the Super Bowl. The kitchen, featured prominently in the doc, is a beauty.

Lady Gaga’s House is a rare three-bedroom palace
We’re used to seeing many bedrooms in a mansion this big, but Lady Gaga’s house has only three. Several bedrooms were converted into dressing and storage spaces for her wardrobe, according to Vogue. Her collection includes custom designs by Alexander McQueen and Gianni Versace, and an entire chamber is devoted to her leather, feather, and black garments.
There’s also a refrigerator in her wardrobe suite, but I’m guessing that it’s not used to hold her infamous meat dress from the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
As for the master suite, it’s almost a home unto itself with two fireplaces, a private terrace, two bathrooms, and, naturally, more closet space.

‘Gypsy palace’ with a “Bat Cave” bowling alley
Gaga purchased the mansion from Dan Romanelli, the founder of the consumer products division of Warner Bros. Romanelli, who had developed merchandise for the studio’s “Batman” franchise, added a “Bat Cave” lair inside the home he built in 2005. Accessed through a secret door and passageway from the living room, the subterranean suite includes an 800-bottle wine cellar, home theater with a bar, and—most striking of all—a two-lane bowling alley.

The great outdoors
The outdoor space appears to get a lot of use, especially the massive saltwater pool and hot tub.

In addition there are plenty of outdoor sitting and dining areas and rose gardens, all with either ocean or mountain views.

Wild horses
For Gaga’s horse Arabella, there’s a dressage ring, horse barn, tack and feed room, riding arena, four grass-sun pens, and two grazing pastures. There are also a number of riding trails throughout the property.

For all the tumult and excitement that come with promoting a movie (and just being Gaga), it must be nice to know that the sight and sound of the crashing waves will always be waiting at home. Looks like she might have a few days to relax at home before her 37-performance Las Vegas stint, and then to glam up for awards season again.
