Mariah Carey Rents Beach House on AirBnB
You don’t need to spend millions on a Bel Air mansion in order to sleep in a star’s bed, cook on a star’s stove, or relax on a star’s throne. All you have to do is check out AirBnB.com, which, according to Page 6, is the source Mariah Carey used to rent this Malibu mansion on Billionaire Beach for a mere $10,000 per night.
Apparently, Mariah and her twins will be staying in Malibu for the summer, in between concerts in Las Vegas and more foreign venues like Tel Aviv. Rumor has it that Carey’s new boyfriend, Australian entertainment tycoon James Packer, an Executive Producer on Jersey Boys and The Lego Movie, will be spending a lot of time there as well.
You may recall reading on AtHomeInHollywood.com that several months ago Carey sold the Bel Air mansion she owned with now-ex-husband Nick Cannon at a deep discount: the listing price was $12,995,000, and the sales price was close to $9 million. When you’re hanging with people like Packer, who is the heir to a major Australian media fortune, that kind of a loss becomes a little less painful.
The AirBnB listing says the $30 million Carbon Beach casa has four bathrooms and four bedrooms, one of them being a large, private master suite with a balcony facing the beach, fireplace, office, sitting room and a luxurious bathroom with a steam shower.
There are high ceilings and walls of French doors throughout, making the place feel spacious and light.
Other features in the main house include a great room with a fireplace, lounge areas and a big bar for entertaining,
and a gourmet kitchen with a two sided fireplace that opens to the dining area.
There’s also an indoor/outdoor spa jacuzzi that’s just shy of being big enough to be considered a pool. Who needs a pool when you’re right on the beach?
In addition, the property includes a two-room guest cottage with a garden facing master bedroom, full bathrooms, a living/media room plus an extra pullout sofa bed.
Not only is the property just a stone’s throw from Nobu, the Malibu Inn, the Malibu Pier and nearby restaurants, but it’s within cup of sugar borrowing distance from gazillionaires like David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Larry Ellison (who owns several homes in this hood), Peter Morton, Eli Broad, Joel Silver and Les Moonves. What more could a young super star and her family want?
