Nescafe Dolce Gusto Mini Me Makes Magic
Calling all coffee lovers: There’s a brand new single-serve coffee system in town, and it has this java fanatic smacking her lips. As much as I love my cappuccino, I never could master the fine art and mess of steaming milk. Now, with the advent of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Mini Me, there’s a sweet, compact machine that does it all for me with no muss or fuss.
With no apologies needed to Austin Powers or Vern Troyer, the Mini Me, is small but mighty. It has the power to whip up 19 different hot or cold beverages in seconds, with espresso technology and 15 bars of professional pressure. It makes great looking and tasting cappuccino so easy, and it’s fascinating to watch the Mini-Me perform — slip in one pod for the espresso, another for the foam, and voila! it’s done. The only think it doesn’t do is create doves or fig leaves in the foam. I can live with that.
All sorts of tasty Nescafe drink pods are available, in standards like Caffe Americano, Espresso and Morning Blend. There are also fancies like Caramel Latte Macchiato, Vanillla Latte Macchiato, Chococino, Chai Tea Latte and Mocha. They even offer skinny versions! I’m a big fan of the Chococino, which kids also love, because they enjoy drinking a hot chocolate latte—makes them feel grown-up.
The Mini-Me’s compact size makes it ideal for a small apartment kitchen, a dorm room, or even an office cubicle or desk. Think of the advantages of not having to store your milk in the office refrigerator, and not having to deal with the complications of community coffeemaker use. I’m thinking it’s the perfect addition to your Christmas list, either for yourself, or for your uncle, boss, or other hard-to-buy-for friends and family members.

When I received my Mini-Me, I scrapped my old espresso machine, which never really worked that well anyway, and put it on my kitchen counter — it takes up about a third of the space, and is much faster, simpler and cleaner to use. Now when I get a craving for a cappuccino, which happens on a regular basis, there’s no longer a need for a Starbucks run. I think I’ve already saved the cost of the Mini Me in what I haven’t paid for professional brews.
