Avengers: Endgame Review — Run, don’t walk to the cineplex, and see it before the spoilers rob you of the pure joy of it all.

Avengers: Endgame reviewAvengers: Endgame has achieved what was previously considered impossible: it kept me not only riveted, but thrilled for the entirety of its three hours. Not once did my attention wander, and there were numerous times when I couldn’t help but burst out in applause. Such scandalous behavior for someone who is supposed to be a serious film critic!

At least I wasn’t ugly crying through the final hour, like the girl sitting next to me was. Hey—I couldn’t blame her. I supplied her with a steady stream of Kleenex.

It’s extremely difficult to write even the vaguest plot summary without divulging spoilers, so I’m not even going to try. Just know that revelations, resolutions and raucousness are liberally peppered throughout  the entire film, so you don’t want to miss a second of it. I advise cutting off all liquid intake at least two hours in advance, because even a quick trip to the bathroom will deprive you of something important.

Kudos to brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, for the talent to so elegantly tie together 21 movies and 25 heroes, giving poignant and satisfying send-offs to some, fresh new beginnings to others, and sandwiching in clever quips at just the right moments.

Kudos also go to the actors, especially Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Josh Brolin…let’s just say everyone. Each have their moment, and those moments are spectacular!

My advice to you is see it ASAP, before those reprehensible spoilers have a chance to rob you of the awe and wonder of the film unfolding before your eyes, and realizing with glory of what’s about to happen a split seconds before it does.

Seriously, if any film was ever worth an investment of three hours of your life, this is it.

Rated PG-13
