If you like your chick lit hot (and who doesn’t?) you definitely don’t want to miss these three new Apple TV series based on favorite bestsellers. Read ’em before you watch ’em.

New Apple TV Series #2: Margo's Got Money Troubles

Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” premiering April 15, 2026 on Apple TV.

Insatiable fiction reader that I am, my tastes are not all that refined. Sure, I love literary fiction and historical fiction, but I also get more than my fill of chick lit and fairy smut.

Since it’s my job to also watch TV, I adore it when the twain shall meet. One of most cherished delights comes when one of my favorite reads (or listens on Audible) is made into a streaming series.

I’m happy to report that Apple TV usually nails it, with its choices of books, casting and overall production. Just take a look at three new Apple TV series based on bestsellers—chick lit in particular—coming soon to a small screen near you:

New Apple TV Series #1: Imperfect Women

New Apple TV Series #1: Imperfect Women

Imperfect Women premieres Wednesday, March 18 on Apple TV.

Imperfect Women, a new psychological thriller starring and executive produced by Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale, Shining Girls, Mad Men) and Kerry Washington (Scandal, Little Fires Everywhere, UnPrisoned), and created for television by Annie Weisman (Physical, Based on a True Story), who also serves as showrunner.

The eight-episode series will make its global debut on Apple TV with the first two episodes on Wednesday, March 18, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through April 29.

Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women examines a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women. The unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unfolds, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.

The ensemble cast starring alongside Emmy Award winners Moss and Washington also includes Kate Mara (House of Cards, The Martian), Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), Corey Stoll (House of Cards), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Central Park), Audrey Zahn (Wildcat), Jill Wagner (Special Ops: Lioness), Rome Flynn (With Love), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Violette Linnz (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Indiana Elle (The Housemaid), Jackson Kelly (The Pitt), Keith Carradine (Madam Secretary), and Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty).

Imperfect Women is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios. Weisman serves as showrunner, marking her latest collaboration with Apple TV following the critically acclaimed dramedy Physical. The limited series is executive produced by Moss and Lindsey McManus, who initially optioned the book, via their production company Love & Squalor Pictures.

Washington executive produces for her Simpson Street banner alongside Pilar Savone. Hall serves as executive producer along with writer Kay Oyegun. Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland, Love & Death) serves as director and executive producer of episodes one, four and five.

New Apple TV Series #2: Margo’s Got Money Troubles

New Apple TV Series #2: Margo's Got Money Troubles

Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, premiering April 15, 2026 on Apple TV.

The highly anticipated series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, starring and executive produced by Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Elle Fanning and Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Michelle Pfeiffer is only a few months away, giving you plenty of time to read the book.

The renowned ensemble cast is also led by Emmy Award winner Nick Offerman and Thaddea Graham, with Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Nicole Kidman, who also serves as an executive producer.

The series also stars Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty and Lindsey Normington.

Hailing from A24 and multi-Emmy Award winner David E. Kelley, and based on Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling novel of the same name, the eight-episode Apple Original series will premiere globally on Wednesday April 15, 2026 with three episodes, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through May 20, 2026.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is a bold, heartwarming and comedic family drama following recent college dropout and aspiring writer, Margo (Fanning), the daughter of an ex-Hooter’s waitress (Pfeiffer) and ex-pro wrestler (Offerman), as she’s forced to make her way with a new baby, a mounting pile of bills and a dwindling amount of ways to pay them.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is produced for Apple TV by A24. Kelley serves as showrunner and writer, and executive produces alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films; and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions.

Pfeiffer, Thorpe, Eva Anderson and Boo Killebrew also executive produce. BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Dearbhla Walsh directs the pilot and serves as an executive producer. Additional directors include Kate Herron and Alice Seabright.

New Apple TV Series #3: Lucky

New Apple TV Series #3: Lucky

Episode 1: Anya Taylor-Joy in Lucky, premiering July 15, 2026 on Apple TV.

I love the book that this limited drama series is based on, but I never imagined they’d cast Golden Globe Award winner, SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Anya Taylor-Joy, in the lead. The Queen’s Gambit star also serves as executive producer.

With a star-studded ensemble cast that also includes Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins, Jr. and William Fichtner, how can you miss?

Lucky will make its global debut on Apple TV with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 15, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through August 19.

Lucky is based on The New York Times bestselling novel and Reese’s Book Club pick of the same name by Marissa Stapley. When a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways, con artist Lucky (Taylor-Joy) is forced to go on the run. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss, Lucky must fight for her life — and a way out.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Lucky is created, co-showrun, written and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper through his Tropper Ink banner and under his overall deal with Apple TV, alongside co-showrunner and executive producer Cassie Pappas.

The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy executive produces through her production banner, LadyKiller. Jonathan van Tulleken, who directed the pilot, is also executive producing.

If you like your chick lit hot (and who doesn’t?) you definitely don’t want to miss these three new Apple TV series based on favorite bestsellers. Read ’em before you watch ’em.
