Lady Gaga's French Bulldog is the New Face of Coach

I don’t know how Coach could have been smarter, savvier or hit more At Home In Hollywood than to feature canine stars as the new faces of their brand. The leading New York design house of modern luxury accessories and lifestyle collections appears to have gone to the dogs with an ad campaign titled “Coach Pups,” and French Bulldog Miss Asia Kinney, the adorable four-legged companion of Lady Gaga, is the leading fresh face.
In a series of portraits photographed by renowned Steven Meisel, the campaign celebrates the dogs in our lives and captures the pups’ unique personalities as they “model” Coach’s Fall 2015 star bags. The Coach bags elegantly shown with Miss Asia include the Edie and the Rucksack.
“I am so proud of Miss Asia!” says the Lady Gaga. “She’s a natural in front of the camera, and we’re both so excited that the iconic Steven Meisel shot her for Coach’s pup campaign! I really love getting to watch my best friend be a star.” Who wouldn’t? Good thing Frankie Feldman can’t read, or he’d be all over me to get him a modeling contract.
Art directed by Fabien Baron and styled by Karl Templer, Coach Pups will appear in print, online and on outdoor media globally starting in July. Stuart Vevers, Creative Director at Coach comments, “’I’ve never had so much fun on a shoot. The combination of Mr. Meisel and the pups was an extraordinary, surreal, special moment. We wanted to create playful images that make you smile. We were inspired by some images from the Coach archive, which featured Eddie—the dog that starred in the TV series Frasier—to create something joyful, with humor and character. That’s a spirit that’s uniquely at the heart of Coach.”
This new initiative will also introduce the social campaign #coachpups, which will include a range of online activities for fellow dog fanciers, opportunities for Instameets, special talks and other events hosted by the great and the good of the canine world. This will also mark the debut of the Coach Snapchat account. And in a further gesture of pup support, Coach has made a donation to Chicago French Bulldog Rescue (frenchieporvous.org) on behalf of Miss Asia Kinney and her devoted owner.

I’ve already reached out to Coach to inform me of those dog fancy activities, and promise to let you know what’s happening where and when. Frankie Feldman would have another go at my Warby Parkers if I didn’t. And rest assured that Frankie and his doodle posse will be in attendance at the events here in L.A. The Frankster is quite the camera hound, has never met a red carpet that he didn’t like. In fact, just to brush up on his manners, he’s already insisted on another session with the world famous movie dog trainer who stood in for Meryl Streep in the animal scenes in Out of Africa. I bet Lady Gaga’s French Bulldog didn’t insist on special training. I seem to be raising a diva.
