Put all that speculation and all those dreams to rest. You can finally find out what it’s like to live like the stars…if you’re willing to shell out $4,500 per night (two-night minimum). Yes, it is possible to rent Leonardo DiCaprio’s house is Palm Springs, that gorgeous modernist estate once owned by Dinah Shore, but it will cost you at least $9,000 to do it. That would be some weekend. Shall we take up a party pool and all start pitching in right now?

The classic Palm Springs estate can accommodate a goodly number of us. After all, the midcentury modern measures about 7,000 square feet and has six brightly-colored bedrooms and seven-and-a-half baths. And there will be plenty to keep us busy, as the 1.34-acre estate also features a poolhouse, tennis court and detached gym.

And we will certainly be staying in style–the sprawling main residence, designed by famed architect Donald Wexler, features multiple floor-to-ceiling glass walls, some of which disappear to seamlessly link the inside with the outside. The interior is anchored by a massive natural stone fireplace and walls. There’s also a unique sunken bar in the living room. While the theme is midcentury modern, appliances and fixtures have been updated with state-of-the-art materials.

DiCaprio bought the property, located in the Old Las Palmas area of Palm Springs, right around the time of last year’s Academy Awards, for which he was nominated for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street. He paid $5.2 million for the estate that was originally built in 1965. DiCaprio purchased it from Dr. Ben Lipps, chief executive of a kidney-dialysis company, and his wife, Jude.

My guess is that DiCaprio didn’t have quite as much free time as he thought he might to relax in Palm Springs, now that he’s busy filming The Revanant, about 1820’s frontiersman Hugh Glass, directed by Alehandro Gonzalez Inarritu.  At the same time, he’s in pre-production on Mean Business on North Ganson Street, a cop/detective flick.

Renting out his homes to the public is nothing new to DiCaprio. Before he sold it, you could also stay the summer in his Malibu beach house…if you had the ca$h. Find out more about availabilities at 432Hermosa.com.
