Kevin Williamson, the man behind film and TV horror franchises including “Scream” and “The Vampire Diaries,” bought a hauntingly beautiful mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, for $17 million in 2020.

After adding a number of luxe features that appealed to his refined taste, the famed writer/director/producer is now seeking a substantial return on his investment by listing it at $21 million.

The posh, 12,000-square-foot home is set behind private gates and is virtually invisible from the street. Set within a community protected by 24/7 security, the house is as safe as can be from any unsavory characters (real or fictional) who might attempt to crawl through the mature hedges or over the walls.

Built in 2019, the home is distinguished by a 24-foot ceiling in the entry foyer, 12-foot interior ceilings, elegant millwork, white-oak hardwood floors, custom lighting, and wrought-iron detailing.

The grand entry is highlighted by white oak flooring, custom wrought iron, and modern lighting.

There are seven bedrooms and 12 baths in the three-level home. Most of the bedrooms are on the second level, including a spacious primary suite, which includes a fireplace, a balcony with sweeping views, two marble-clad bathrooms with soaking tubs, and a pair of custom dressing rooms/closets.

The main floor features light-filled, formal living and dining rooms; an office; a large family room that opens to the outdoor entertaining areas; and a number of powder rooms.

Meanwhile, the kitchen is also on the main floor and is nicely outfitted with honed, Calacatta marble countertops, a La Cornue 1908 oven and range, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, two Miele dishwashers, a wine fridge, white cabinetry, and an eat-in island. A less-formal dining area extends from the kitchen.

The palatial primary suite spreads over a good portion of the second floor.

A nearly 2,000-square-foot, subterranean auto gallery is accessed from the lower level. It features an extraordinarily appointed garage, equipped with a revolving car turntable and parking for up to six vehicles.

And conveniently, an elevator connects all levels.

There’s even more entertainment space outdoors—the backyard on this .71-acre lot offers a sleek pool and spa, plus a pool house with an outdoor kitchen, inviting bar, dining facilities, and a fire pit lounge.

Everything in this home is automated and managed at the touch of a screen, including the draperies, televisions, lighting, audio, fireplaces, and gated/garage entries—all from the latest Savant and Lutron systems.

Williamson, 59, is the mastermind behind numerous supernatural-themed projects, including the “Scream” movies, “Cursed,” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” In addition to the TV series “The Vampire Diaries,” he is also known for his less-terrifying work, most notably, “Dawson’s Creek.” The iconic teen drama launched many successful acting careers, including those of Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, and Busy Phillips.

The pool house is set up with a kitchen, a bar, and a fire pit lounge.
