Of course TV icon Bob Barker’s historic home in The Hollywood Hills would be iconic. The longtime host of “The Price Is Right” game show lived in the Spanish Colonial Revival home for more than 50 years.

Barker died in August at age 99, and now, his luxe home is fresh on the market, priced at $2,988,000.

The property in the prestigious Outpost Estates is an official City of L.A. Historic-Cultural Monument.

The home was built in 1929 on the site of the original adobe, or “Outpost,” for which the neighborhood was named. Some say it was the very first home built in that part of the Hollywood Hills. Gen. Harrison Gray Otis, the founder of the Los Angeles Times, purchased the old adobe in 1880 and lived there until his death in 1917.

Some years later, according to Mansion Global, the property was sold to developer Charles E. Toberman, known for building the Hollywood Bowl.

Toberman razed the old adobe and built the home Barker would eventually buy and cherish for so many years.
