Deja View? Eva Longoria Reduces the Price of Her Beverly Hills Mansion Again
Eva Longoria could hardly be considered a desperate housewife these days, even though she famously played one on TV more than a decade ago.
But without finding a buyer for her home, the actress did recently slice the price of her Beverly Hills, CA, mansion.
The haute home landed on the market almost a year ago for $22,888,000, and Longoria has now dropped the price a second time. The posh place is now listed for $18,988,000.
She and her husband, media mogul José Bastón, paid $13,500,000 for the chic, 1.4-acre property in 2017. The couple will still make a hefty profit, even though they spent an untold (but obviously substantial) amount on an exquisite renovation.
The 10,652-square-foot Spanish contemporary was originally built in 1996. The setting is perfect for a celebrity, as it’s positioned on a deep lot and has a long, scenic, and gated driveway that provides plenty of privacy. Plus, the security systems here are state of the art.
Longoria and Bastón added many colorful touches when they remodeled—for starters, enlivening the somewhat stark exterior by planting trees and creeping vines around the main house and freshening the front door with a vibrant red hue, inside and out.
Elegant and expansive white walls and wide-oak planking on the floors, ceilings, and walls provide excellent backdrops for art collections. Natural light streams in through numerous floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights.
The culinary area of the house has today’s hottest commodity: dual kitchens—one is a family-style cook space with an island and attached breakfast room; the other is a prep kitchen for events and entertaining.
There are eight bedrooms and 9.5 baths in the manse. Five of those bedrooms are upstairs, including the primary suite, with its private sitting area and office, marble bath with a sauna, and a remarkably spacious walk-in closet.
There’s also a separate staff wing with two bedroom on first level, as well as a third guest bedroom.
Some of the home’s more luxurious features include a home theater, luxe pool cabana with a full bar, temperature-controlled wine room, a stylish library, an extensive glass-walled gym, and a championship tennis court with a pavilion.
The backyard pool and spa area is full of lounging, dining, entertaining, and relaxing areas, all made more spectacular by the canyon views.
This is not Longoria’s first rodeo, when it comes to buying and selling luxury real estate at a reduced price.
She bought Tom Cruise‘s French country compound in 2015 for $11.4 million and listed it for $14 million in 2017, before dropping the price to $9.8 million the next year.
Longoria, 48, got her first big break on the soap opera, “The Young and the Restless.” She went on to achieve stardom in the long-running series, “Desperate Housewives.” She currently stars in the CNN travel series, “Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico,” and has a recurring role on Season 4 of Hulu’s “Only Murders In the Building.”
