When he teamed up with lyricist Hal David, the duo produced hits including “Alfie,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” and “Do You Know the Way to San Jose.” The pair won an Oscar for the song, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” written for the film, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
Fun fact: The prolific hitmaker appeared in all three “Austin Powers” movies and served as an “American Idol” judge in 2006.
