There appears to be a dearth of buyers swiping right on the Hollywood Hills mansion in Los Angeles belonging to Sean Rad, co-founder of the dating app Tinder.

After seven months on the market at $32 million, the home didn’t match with a buyer, so the price of the modern architectural gem was dropped to $28.5 million.

The sophisticated property in the famous Bird Streets neighborhood recently graced the cover of Architectural Digest, and for good reason—the five-bedroom, nine-bath, 10,613-square-foot mansion is the epitome of modern elegance.

Rad and his wife, Lizzie Grover Rad, acquired the fab pad in 2018 for $24 million.

Originally built in the 1930s, the place had been renovated by the previous owner. The Rads then worked with designer Jane Hallworth to renovate it even further, using rare materials from all over the world. For instance, various types of sumptuous marble were incorporated throughout the house.

The marble in the open kitchen is particularly spectacular. The couple used 20 slabs of book-matched Calacatta marble, with veins of gold and bronze on the walls, countertops, and island. Custom bronze-patinated cabinets and bronze fixtures, plus top-flight appliances, make a corresponding statement.

They also added magnificent marble to the primary-suite bath. It’s completely wrapped in 40 slabs of Calacatta Breccia Capraia—a vary rare marble from Italy, where it was used in churches for centuries.

The marble is especially impressive in the composition of the undulating, built-in chaise lounge in the steam shower and in the soaking tub that is hewn from a single block of that rare material.

Walls throughout the home (especially in the double-height great room) are finished with Venetian plaster and 10 (yes, 10) layers of paint, according to the listing.

The mind-boggling speakeasy, situated discreetly behind 4,000-pound doors, is a spectacle of sleek, custom cabinetry and an illuminated bottle display that would be right at home in any posh bar or lounge.

Other lavish spaces include two private offices (one accented with reclaimed French oak), a plush home theater with state-of-the-art projection and sound, a wine cellar, an extensive gym, a recreation room, and private library.

The design’s exquisite attention to detail extends outdoors. In front, the sizable motor court is composed of 200-year-old cobblestones from the historic streets of Boston.

In back, there are verdant lawns and privacy hedges surrounding a pool and spa. Nearby, a covered patio extends to an outdoor living room with an impressive fireplace and seating area.

The Rads have lived in the fully completed, ultraluxury dwelling for only a few years. But they’re ready to part ways with the property, because they thrive on new projects and are ready to move on to the next, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Sean Rad, 37, co-founded the hit dating app Tinder in 2012. He left the company in 2017. He and his wife are avid art collectors and philanthropists.
