OMG! Melissa McCarthy’s New House is In My ‘Hood!

Melissa McCarthy's New House

As an integral part of The Ladies Who Leash, Frankie Feldman and I have been walking by Melissa McCarthy’s new house ever since it was a quaint little three bedroom, two bath bungalow, originally built in 1936.

I’m not gonna lie—the Ladies Who Leash were shocked when a developer bought the place in 2018 for $925,000, then proceeded to completely rebuild it and paint the exterior a startling shade of black. OK Boomer, I know it’s the new trend, but I just haven’t caught up with it yet.

Before Melissa put forth a jaw dropping (to us) $2.4 million, the home was listed at $2,189,000, and we shook our heads and asked each other who would pay that much for a home the color of burnt toast. Shows how much we know. It was on the market for about two seconds before McCarthy snapped it up in a fevered bidding war—just long enough for us to poke our inquisitive noses in the door at a jam packed open house.

It truly is lovely inside, with its brand new, exquisitely finished four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Now measuring a generous 2,800 square feet, it’s light and bright, with skylights galore and a massive great room with a floor to ceiling glass door that leads out to a bucolic backyard.

The entire property is freshly landscaped—in front, as you can see, it’s drought resistant, and the backyard is so lush I wouldn’t dare to let my lovable labradoodle tread there, with its sparkling green lawn, pool with a spa and water wall fountain, and an outdoor kitchen/barbecue area. Frankie and his boisterous buddies would make short work of that grass, and would also see to it that all the lovely plants were well watered.

Now even if she has a perky pup, I wouldn’t expect Melissa to join the Ladies Who Leash — not because we wouldn’t welcome her, but mostly because she and her fantabulous husband Ben Falcon have a bigger. more lavish home in Toluca Lake, in close proximity to the Gary Marshall estate, where Barbara Marshall still dwells. Melissa also  has another 1940’s bungalow in the same area, that they’ve offered for rent at $10,00 per month.
