Color Expert Jill Kirsh Dishes on the Good, the Bad, and the Better at Emmys 2016
The Emmys 2016 show was fabulously produced and full of big surprises for me — Rami Malek winning Best Actor in a Drama Series over heavyweights like Bob Odenkirk, Liev Schreiber and Kevin Spacey; Tatiana Mislay winning for Best Actress in a Drama Series over Claire Danes, Taraji P. Henson and Robin Wright. And Jimmy Kimmel‘s mom sending out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to everyone in the audience. Most of us are there from about 2:30 to 8:30, and we were all starving by the time they got to us. I couldn’t believe how the stars tore into those schoolyard bag lunches.
But there were also surprises on the red carpet, as there always are, and my good friend Jill Kirsh, of JillKirshColor.com, Hollywood’s Guru of Hue, commented on who wore what color best, showingio us how some stars could have looked so much better if they’d just followed Jill’s professional advice and worn the hue that looks best on them. For example, check out Game of Thrones‘ Dragon Mother Emelia Clark, about whom Jill says, “The soft dusty shade tends to wash out the exquisite auburn haired Emilia Clarke. If she warmed it up a bit to more of a chardonnay, it would still be light, but would enhance her features.”
